Manchester United Striker Odion Ighalo is set to leave the club next week after the club failed to reach a transfer agreement with his parent club Shanghai Shenhua.
Ighalo was signed by the Red devils during the January transfer window and has made an instant impact scoring four goals in just three starts in all competitions.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that Ighalo is supposed to be going back after the expiry of the deal but he hopes that an agreement can be reached for an extension.
The Red devils’ manager, speaking to the club’s website, said that they are in talks with the Chinese club to allow the striker to stay on and “hopefully he can finish off what he started”.
With the Chinese Super League season set to resume in June/July, his parent club expects him back by then. Ighalo however, may be in luck as he cannot travel to China following the suspension of entry into China for foreign nationals due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Although he may have played his last game for United, Ighalo is taking part in training with his United team-mates at the Carrington base.
