How to Check KCSE Candidates’ KUCCPS University and College Placement

There are three ways that students can check their universities and colleges placements.

Students who sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2019 can now access the universities and colleges they have been selected to join.

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha announced that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS) has selected 122,831 students to join government-sponsored degree courses while 88,724 have been selected to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.

Out of the candidates selected for degree programs, 70,050 are male while 52,781 are female whereas out of those selected for TVET programs, 39,695 are male while the female students are 49,029

53,726 of those selected for TVET programs will be admitted to diploma courses, 29,112 will be admitted to Craft Certificate courses and 5,886 will be admitted to Artisan certificate courses.

The Education CS said that KUCCPS applied Affirmative Action criteria for applicants living with disabilities, those from marginalized regions and for gender, pursuant to the Universities Act, 2012 and the Placement Policy.

According to KUCCPS, there are three ways that students can check their universities and colleges placements. These are: through the KUCCPS Online Portal, through the KUCCPS Mobile app and the yet to be releases SMS service.

KUCCPS Online Portal

  1. Access the KUCCPS Portal
  2. Enter your login credentials:
    • Username: [full index number]
    • Year: [2019]
    • Password: [Birth Certificate Number/KCPE Index No]
  3. Access the university or college details.

KUCCPS Mobile App

  1. Download KUCCPS student portal app
  2. Enter your login credentials
    • Username: [full index number]
    • Year: [2019]
    • Password: [Birth Certificate Number/KCPE Index No]

Text Message (SMS)

KUCCPS has also promised to release a text message number to be used to get the university and college placements.
